Come along and join in on the discovery of how fascinating and diverse microalgae are!! French conference supported by English powerpoint.
With the support of the French Embassy in Ireland.
"Thousands species of microalgae are spread over the earth's surface and are at the basis of the marine food chain contributing to the majority of the carbon fixation and oxygen production at the globe level. They grow in almost any salinity conditions from North Pole to equator and resist to desiccation and a wide range of irradiance, pH and temperature. These general characteristics make them ideal candidates for diverse applications in biotechnology, cosmetics and pharmacology."
Speaker : Jean Paul Cadoret, Responsable du laboratoire de Physiologie et Biotechnologie des Algues de l'IFREMER.
