Artist's statement : "My practise is process based. I currently work by taking a blank canvas and I then work intuitively with colour and allow imagery to unfold. This can be from an inner feeling or mood (sometimes outer) and working with my imagination, sometimes pulling out forms - following an impulse and working with that energy. The resulting work can be both abstract and figurative. My work acts as a visual playground, allowing for play of the eye, mind and imagination and can evoke an emotional response."
Kay developed her interest in art initially via oil painting, movingin to multiple media types including screen printing collage, silk painting andother forms. Her own free-range poultry interests have provided inspirationfor many of her works.
