A bit of history

The first Alliance was founded in Paris on July 21, 1883 by a group of eminent men, including the scientist Louis Pasteur, the diplomat Ferdinand de Lesseps, the writers Jules Verne and Ernest Renan, and the publisher Armand Colin.

Alliance Française (AF) supported by the French Foreign Office and one of the largest educational and cultural networks in the world with over 1000 Alliances in 135 countries, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote French language and culture outside France.It is more than a language school: bi-cultural centre promoting French as well as local artists, it is also a place of cross-cultural exchange and overall enrichment of the individual.
